“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” - African Proverb

We Wave is about co-creating together. My father used to say, “In life, give what’s expected of you and then some.” It’s the “and then some” that can change the world.

I’m one of five kids and I’m the runt. I was a preemie. But my parents never told me I was scrawny or had a lazy eye. (LOL) Instead, they encouraged me to give my best, have a great work ethic and treat everyone the same. They taught me to be as comfortable doing manual labor as I am at a conference table with executives.  “Treat everyone with respect” was their message. Because of that wisdom, I’ve always wanted to connect with everyone and bridge the gaps in the community. I was that way as a kid and I’m that way today. I want people to feel welcome.

Decades ago, I was a tourist in Moab, and now I’m a local. I want to give others that local experience and bring everyone inside. There can be a division between sports enthusiasts, but there are so many different ways to access the outdoors. I want to help bridge that gap.

Whether you’re biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing, horseback riding, etc. it just feels good to get outside and breath fresh air. Our brains become more open to creativity when we’re in the outdoors. When I’m outside, whether by myself or with friends, I feel more alive. I grew up going to the lake and playing in the woods. We rode our bikes everywhere and played kick-the-can until dark and our parents called us home. Today, being outside is still my happy place. I want to share it with others and help create an environment where everyone is welcome.
